Sandro Botticelli
Sandro Botticelli (* March 1 1445 in Florence ; † May 17 1510 ibid., Alessandro di Mariano actually Filipepi ) was an Italian painter and illustrator of the early Renaissance .
In the spirit of early Renaissance humanism and painted Botticelli, Filippo Lippi influenced by , Masaccio and Antonio Pollaiuolo , religious paintings, altarpieces and pictures from the topic of Greek mythology and allegories with contemporary relevance. Of utmost importance is his portraiture, which has strongly influenced the image of Medici and their partisans. His later work with emotionally expressive features with reference back to the Gothic . Some elements of his paintings were later in the Pre-Raphaelites 19th Century revived. Even the art nouveau was in line and ornament bonds from him.
